Law May Prohibit Smoking With Kids In Car

Parents may soon be banned from smoking in the car if their kids are with them. A new proposal in Springfield would make it a crime to fire up in front of the kids and it would come with a fine of up to $100. But, they’d only get a ticket if they were caught violating another traffic law. Police wouldn’t be allowed to pull the driver over just for the smoking offense. The measure could go up for debate sometime in the next few months.
