The National Weather Service, in partnership with the city of Highland, will offer a free SKYWARN storm spotter class Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Highland Middle School. Meteorologist Mark Britt told us more about the class:
“It’s about a two-hour long class, and we go over how to spot just different types of severe weather including hail, high winds, flash floods and tornadoes,” Britt said. “We talk about just how to spot those and then different reporting procedures, how to report those to our office.”
For more information on the class or to register in advance, call Troy Hemann at 654-5901.
