Police Identify Pedestrian Killed On Rt. 127

Illinois State Police, Bond County Deputies, and Bond County EMS responded Wednesday, at 2:54 a.m., to the scene of a pedestrian accident on Rt. 127 south of the Greenville Airport.  According to the accident report, Kristy Renee Mays Hawk, age 26, of Shobonier, and another person were walking in the southbound lane of Rt. 127 when she was struck and killed by a 2001 Dodge Truck driven by Cody A. Jackson, age 19, of Hoffman.

The report says Hawk was standing, facing south, inside the white fog line in the southbound lane of Rt. 127.  Jackson stopped and stayed at the scene.  A second pedestrian walking with Hawk was not injured.  Bond County Coroner Tony Brooks pronounced Kristy R. Hawk dead at the scene at 3:40 a.m.  The Illinois State Police and the Bond County Coroner’s office continue to investigate the accident.  No charges for the driver of the truck are expected.
