Fund Raising Campaign For Fireworks Launched

The Bond County Independence Day Festival Association (BCIDFA), a grassroots organization planning the return of the July 4th celebration at Patriot’s Park in Greenville, has unveiled a fund raising effort called the “40 for the 4th Club.”  For a forty dollar donation to the BCIDFA, the donor becomes a member of the “40 for the 4th Club,” which entitles them to a commemorative t-shirt and VIP perks at the Fourth Fest.

The BCIDFA recently selected Central States Fireworks as the provider for the show. The projected cost for the fireworks alone is $10,000. The association is also planning a festival that would include live music, food and activities.

Scott Crothers, president of the BCIDFA, said, “Through the ‘40 for the 4th Club,’ the public can demonstrate their financial and moral support for our initiative to revive the annual tradition of Fourth of July fireworks at Patriot’s Park. Every donor member will be instrumental in keeping a great American tradition alive in our community.”

The group recently held its first fund raiser, a trivia night at the Greenville VFW, which netted around $2,000.
