KPD Approves Bonds

In a meeting Monday night the Kingsbury Park District approved $401,000 in bonds.  KPD Director Jerry Sauerwein previously told WGEL some of the bond money will go to matching funds to apply for grants to acquire land.

“In our Master Plan it talks about an outdoor complex as well as an indoor complex,” said Sauerwein.  “If you’re looking at a piece of ground, the acreage that’s been talked about is around 60 acres.  That would be primarily for your outdoor complex.  I think the driving force of that is the lack of soccer space, or flat space to play soccer or flag football, or even expanding into some other areas.  Having these conversations and looking at land for several years now…the exact location hasn’t been revealed yet and we’re still in negotiations for both parcels, or possibly three different parcels.”

Part of the bond money will also be used for maintenance issues at Jaycee Park and the KPD pool and possibly to purchase a new truck for the park district.
