Mulberry Grove High School’s FFA Chapter is gearing up for a week of festivities for National FFA Week which officially begins February 15.
“At Mulberry we host a petting zoo and kind of an ag information day on Friday, February 21,” Mulberry Grove FFA Director Matt Elam told WGEL. “That’s the day the kids get to drive their tractors to school if they want to and bring animals for the petting zoo.
“We do a teacher/staff appreciation meal on Thursday the 20th and we have an ag Olympics with younger kids at the elementary and at the high school, so the kids get to have a little fun. They also do different themed dress up days during the week.”
The week of George Washington’s birthday was designated National FFA Week in 1947 at a National FFA Board of Directors meeting.
