Mulberry Grove Unit 1 Considers Purchase Of New Van

At the Tuesday Mulberry Grove Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Mike Gauch reported on the condition of the school van and outlined options for repairs or replacement. The current van has high miles and needs extensive repairs costing an estimated $6,000.00 – $7,000.00. Research shows a new van is available for a little more than $19,000.00 and used vans are also available for $17,000.00 – $22,000.00. Following discussion, the board tabled the matter until the March meeting.

In his financial report, Superintendent Gauch said working cash is holding steady and general state aid payments are coming in regularly. The transportation fund will need to borrow money by next month if no categorical state aid payment for transportation is received soon.

On the recommendation of Principal Ryan Bauer, the board hired Lyndsey Beckham as assistant high school softball coach for 2013-2014.
