NWS Confirmed Tornado Blew Through Thursday

Damage on Pokey Road

The National Weather Service recently confirmed that a tornado was responsible for some of Thursday’s storm damage. According to their reports, the tornado first touched down about 3 miles northeast of Highland and stayed on the ground for 12 miles before lifting 3 miles southwest of Greenville. At its worst, the tornado was rated an EF1 with winds around 105 miles per hour and a maximum width of 50 yards.
