Shoal Creek Chapter Helps Nra Foundation Raise Funds

The Shoal Creek Friends of NRA will hold their 18th Annual Banquet Saturday, March 8 at the Copper Dock Winery in Pocahontas.

Don Niehaus, with the Shoal Creek chapter, told WGEL the NRA Foundation was established in 1990 as a tax-exempt organization that raises tax deductible contributions to support a wide range of firearms-related public interest activities.

Over the past three years, the Shoal Creek Friends of NRA has awarded over $604,000 in grants to fund projects in southern Illinois. Half of their proceeds stay in the region, benefitting organizations such as the Mulberry Grove High School Aces Shooting Team, Fayette County 4-H, Montgomery County 4-H, Boy Scouts of America Greater Saint Louis and the Mount Vernon Police Department.
