Police are looking into two suspected drug overdose deaths in Belleville. Belleville Police Sergeant Mark Heffernan says officers received a call about an unconscious man Monday morning. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The second victim was a woman found unresponsive, also early Monday morning. She was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where she died a short time later. The man who died had a history of drug-related offenses dating back to 2003.
These deaths come just days after three suspected heroin overdoses in a six hour time span late last week in nearby Madison County.
