Board Of Health Reports Increased No-shows In January

In their recent meeting, the Bond County Board of Health discussed an increased amount of cancellations and no-shows for appointments throughout the department in January due to inclement weather at their meeting Monday night.

Despite 70 late cancellations and 54 no-shows, the dental clinic performed 929 procedures in January.  Health Department Administrator Mark Ayers said the dental clinic is still operating with extended hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but if the large number of midday cancellations continues, the extended hours will be difficult to sustain.

The board also discussed the hire of new full-time staff therapist Todd Holsapple for Prairie Counseling Center. Holsapple previously worked for Greenville Family Wellness Center before their recent closing.

In the board’s flu update, they reported 40 remaining flu vaccine doses available but came to a general consensus to hold off on returning those doses for credit until flu season has passed.

The board will meet next on March 17.
