Bond County Recycling Program Yields Almost 7 Tons

During Tuesday night’s Bond County Board meeting, Kim Taylor from FAYCO provided an update on the county’s recycling program.  6.9 tons of recyclable material has been donated at the facility, which opened in December.

Taylor noted she’s pleased with the usage the facility has seen and expects it to double as the weather improves.

A light has been installed at the recycling center, which is located east of McDonald’s behind the Greenville Veterinary Clinic, allowing for drop-offs after dark.  Additional signage will be placed soon.

Taylor reminded residents that the facility does not accept plastic grocery bags or plastic sheeting and requested that those who leave cardboard boxes break them down when possible.
