The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has made 12 $500 scholarships available for low income residents looking to further their education in Bond, Clinton, Marion and Washington counties. The scholarships may be used for tuition and special fees, textbooks and supplies, room and board, child care and transportation costs.
Scholarships criteria include income, most current grade point average, a 100-200 word career goals statement, three letters of recommendation and an interview with the scholarship committee.
