As part of their lunch and learn programming, the Bond County Senior Center will feature an information and demonstration session on amplified phones for the hearing impaired. Director Anna Oestreich told us the program will be offered Monday, March 10 over the lunch hour.
“Impact, the organization that works with individuals that have some disabilities, has a program through the state of Illinois that offers free amplified phones for persons who are hearing impaired,” Oestreich told WGEL. “Impact, which is located in the Alton area, actually has a contract to cover Bond, so they’re coming out here. They’re coming out with all the phones, with five different models, that people can test…All they really need is a statement from a hearing specialist or from their physician saying they are in need of this phone.”
