Trailer Is Complete Loss On Route 40 In Greenville

Greenville fire fighters responded to a trailer fire at 2:22 a.m. Saturday morning near the Route 40 and 4th street intersection, on the south side of 40. According to Fire Chief Bill Johnston, the roof of the trailer had collapsed by the time fire fighters could respond. The fire was seen by a pair of people driving by that called 911. The trailer was unoccupied and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is undetermined, and the trailer was a complete loss. Firefighters were on the scene for three hours, and Smithboro was called for mutual aid.
