Bond County Board Hires New Highway Engineer

The Bond County Board recently hired Jeremy Pestle, of Macomb, IL, as the new Bond County Highway Engineer with a unanimous vote. Pestle told WGEL he is looking forward to working for the county.

“I spent two and a half years [in McDonough County] under Dan Ratterman, a former county engineer here. I ended up going to a consultant and worked there for a while. But I missed this world here in the county environment, and look forward to seeing how it goes here.”

Before settling the matter, Board Chairman Howard Elmore asked Pestle about his baseball affiliations. After a long pause, Pestle tactfully replied that he is too busy to follow baseball. Pestle’s hire will be finalized, pending IDOT approval, at the next Bond County Board meeting on Tuesday, April 15.
