Bond County Board Hires New Highway Engineer

Following an executive session, the Bond County Board voted Tuesday morning to hire Jeremy Pestle, of Macomb, IL, as the new Bond County Highway Engineer.

Board Chairman Howard Elmore told WGEL the county received applications from many qualified candidates, but board members are confident they selected the right one for Bond County.  Pestle began his career working under Dan Ratterman in McDonough County.  Ratterman is a former Bond County Highway Engineer.

Pestle will replace former Bond County Highway Engineer Doug DeLong, who resigned in February.

The decision was unanimous at 5-0, with board member Eldon Young participating by telephone.  The hiring is pending IDOT approval.

A special county board meeting has been set for Friday, April 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bond County Board Room at the courthouse.  The meeting will consist of a meet and greet to welcome Pestle to Bond County.
