City Economic Development Coordinator Leaves To Take Another Position

Scott Lurkins, Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Greenville, has accepted a new position and will be relocating to Louisville, KY to assume his new role.

This change is effective April 14, 2014. Scott joined the City as an intern over three years ago and was promoted to his current position. Scott completed the MBA program at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis since joining the City. During his time with the City he has been involved with many important projects. The designation of Greenville as a CSX Select Site, the expansion of Carlisle Syntec’s manufacturing operations, the location of the Fast-Rite International distribution center, the expansion and relocation of the Bond County Senior Center are among many other projects worked on or currently in the pipeline. City Manager Willey said he is very proud of Scott’s achievements and many other projects that are under way.

All of the economic development responsibilities and activities will temporarily transition to the City Manager over the coming weeks. Any current projects will receive immediate attention provided by Lurkins, Willey and other City staff.
