The Greenville Pilots Association, a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, will sponsor Young Eagles Day on Saturday, May 10 at the Greenville Airport. Craig Baumberger, president of the pilots association, told us more about the event.
“This is actually an EAA program—it’s a national program—designed to get young people a chance to take a ride in an airplane and get exposed to different aviation careers,” Baumberger told WGEL. “Anybody 8 to 17 years old is entitled to register and get a ride at our Young Eagles Day at the Greenville Airport.”
Activities for the day include a plane ride, aviation mini-seminars, and opportunities to learn about planes, talk to a pilot and get your picture taken with a plane. The event is free of charge. Plane rides are limited to the first 40 applicants. Applications are available at the airport office. For more information, call 664-0926.
