The Greenville Women’s Club is celebrating their 40th year serving the community with a celebration on Saturday, May 10. The event will be held at the VFW in Greenville at 6:00 p.m. and will include a buffet meal, live music from the Greenville College Swing band and dancing. Club president Gayle Wise told us more about how the women’s club has served Greenville in the past 40 years.
“We have decorated the courthouse with lights twice, we have put banners up, we have established the single candle in the window Christmas lighting theme, there’s been tulips all along Harris [Avenue] that we’ve done. So, many, many things that we have accomplished and we are still wanting to accomplish.” Wise told WGEL.
“What our goal is in the future is not only to beautify Greenville, but to give back to the community, and that’s why the proceeds for our 40th will go to the Bond County Foster Hope. We hope to see a lot of people and we know they’re going to have a good time.”
Tickets for the celebration are $15 and can be purchased at Watson’s, Bradford Bank, Sweetest Things and from club members. Everyone is welcome to attend the event. For more information, contact Gayle Wise at 664-2149.
