St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville has welcomed a new priest. Father Paul Kala is originally from Ghana, on the west coast of Africa. Father Paul told us that he’s no stranger to the St. Louis Metro East area.
“Before I got here, I was a parochial vicar at St. Cecilia’s in Glen Carbon as well as St. Mary’s in Edwardsville and also the Catholic Chaplain, basically, for SIUE. And prior to that I was in Highland for a couple of years.”
Father Paul says the Greenville community has been very welcoming.
“So far I have enjoyed my stay. All the pastors of the different denominations in town have been very welcoming and I am really, really looking forward to working with each and every one of them and being a part of this wonderful community.”
Father Paul started his tenure with St. Lawrence on April 1st.
