Bond County Board Sets Raises

Following an executive session in their regular meeting Tuesday, the Bond County Board voted three to one to provide a $2,500 raise for the Bond County Sheriff, Clerk, Treasurer, and Circuit Clerk for the first year of the 2014-2018 term.  Each office holder will receive an additional $1,500 raise for each of the three remaining years of the term. Gerald “Spanky” McCray cast the “no” vote. Frank Lucco was absent from the meeting.

Board members appointed Devin Koertge to the Mulberry Grove Fire Protection District.

And approval was given to several groups to use the courthouse lawn in the coming weeks:

Greenville Auto Body will use the lawn for the Cruise to the Square on Friday, May 9; the Lem Rhodes Cancer Foundation will use the lawn for a fundraising kickoff event on Saturday, May 17; and the Greenville Municipal Band will use the courthouse lawn for concerts on May 29, June 12, and June 26.
