Chamber Nears Goal For Gazebo

The Greenville Chamber of Commerce held a cookout on the Greenville Square last Friday. Proceeds from the lunch will be used to purchase a new gazebo to be placed on the courthouse lawn.

Chamber Executive Director John Goldsmith told WGEL the fundraiser went well.

“We had a great day last Friday for our Chamber of Commerce Wes Pourchot cookout on the square,” Goldsmith said.  “The weather may not have been ideal, but that certainly didn’t keep folks away who were craving pork burgers and chops and bratwurst. We cleared over $1,500 and it was just a fantastic fundraiser for our gazebo project.

“In conjunction with that, we’ve received some nice donations from a couple of our Chamber members, so we are very close to having the funds the Chamber needs to get the new gazebo ordered, so I’m still hoping that we’ll have a new gazebo in place by early June.”

If you’d like to make a contribution to the gazebo project, you can send donations to the Chamber of Commerce at P.O. Box 283 in Greenville. Goldsmith said contributions of all sizes are welcome.
