Kaskaskia College recently announced that the Greenville Federal Correctional Institution was given the Business and Industry Partnership Award.

Kaskaskia College has partnered with the Greenville Federal Correctional Institute to provide classroom instruction for the inmates housed there. These opportunities currently include office technologies, Microsoft Office, and Animal Grooming. Additional offerings, such as Culinary Operations are being planned for the future. Through this partnership, recidivism rates are reduced and the inmates’ lives after their incarceration are improved. GFCI staff also serve on College advisory boards, which helps the college enhance its educational programs.
