Kaskaskia College Students Place In State Competitions

Kaskaskia College Career and Technical Education students recently attended the Illinois SkillsUSA conference in Springfield. Twenty KC students and eight advisors attended with all 20 students finishing in the top ten of their competitions. KC brought home eight gold medals, seven silver medals, three bronze medals, and one fourth place recognition. Kaskaskia College received an Illinois SkillsUSA second place membership award. Students placing first will advance to the National SkillsUSA competition in June in Kansas City, Missouri.

Five KC Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) students attended the State Leadership Conference in Effingham. Attending students earned two first place awards, one second, and three third place awards. Carlyle student Bradley Maschhoff was elected Illinois PBL State President for the next academic year. Students earning first and second place awards qualify to compete at the National Leadership Conference in June at the Opryland Hotel and Resort in Nashville, Tennessee.
