Mobile Home Fire On Conoco Road

Smithboro Firefighters responded Tuesday, at 4:27 p.m., to a report of a structure fire on Conoco Road south of Mulberry Grove. According to Fire Chief Dale Deverick, the structure was a vacant mobile home. Deverick said the entire home was full of smoke when firefighters arrived. The fire was confined to the living room floor and about half the floor was burned. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical. 

The home sustained smoke damage, water damage to the living room, and broken windows. Mulberry Grove and Greenville Firefighters provided mutual aid with tankers and manpower. There were no injuries and firefighters were on the scene about two hours.
