The recently formed fundraising committee of the Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation will have a kickoff program for its 2014 campaign this Saturday, May 17th. The short program begins at 9:00 a.m. on the south steps of the courthouse. Representatives of the Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation will discuss its mission and the goals of the fundraising campaign. A past recipient of funds from the foundation will share their story. Teams may sign up that day to join the effort.
A celebration of life festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 13 to wrap-up the campaign.
The foundation provides financial assistance and other resources to individuals and family members for cancer treatment and related expenses. Through a confidential application process, individuals are selected based upon income guidelines. Funding applications will be available at the fundraising kickoff on Saturday.
