Pocahontas American Legion To Hold Memorial Day Ceremonies

The Pocahontas American Legion will hold multiple ceremonies throughout the Memorial Day weekend. Post Commander Kent Weiss told us more.

“May 24th, the Pocahontas American Legion will be at the Burgess Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. for services,” Weiss said.  “On May 25th, the Pocahontas American Legion and the Highland VFW will be at Robinson Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.  Then on May 26th, we’ll have our memorial service at the Pocahontas Veterans’ Monument on the square at 11:00. The Mulberry Grove American Legion will have their firing squad with us on the square in Pocahontas.”

Weiss said everyone is invited to attend the memorial ceremonies. He suggests bringing your own lawn chairs if desired.
