Today Is 2nd Annual Comet Give Back Day

Over 170 Greenville High School students, teachers and parents will participate in the 2nd annual Comet Give Back Day today. BLOCC Advisor Laura Miller told us those signed up will spend about two and a half hours in service to the community.

“We are going to be going to nursing homes, to the Humane Society,” Miller told WGEL. “We’re going to be helping the city clean up different areas and parts of the city including the Idler Lane dock and Montrose Cemetery. We’re going to go out to the fairgrounds and help clean up the fairgrounds and kind of get it ready for spring and summer. We’ll be at Jaycee Park, helping the park district do other different things. So we’ll just be all over town, doing all sorts of service for the community.”

Miller said the event is the culmination of Character Week, an entire week dedicated to talking about how to be a person of character.
