Vandalia Fire Ruled An Arson

The arson investigator from the Office of the State Fire Marshal has ruled the fire that occurred on Saturday, May 10 at the Central High Apartments in Vandalia to be arson.

Vandalia Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for setting the fire. The department is offering a $2,500 cash reward for specific information leading to the arrest for the person or persons responsible for the blaze.

The fire, which claimed the life of 63-year-old Jerry Voris, a resident of the apartment complex, remains under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Vandalia Police Department, and the Fayette County Coroner.
