West Nile Virus Season Approaching

Health officials are reminding people to protect themselves against the West Nile virus. Mosquitoes will be out in full force once the weather turns warm. You’ll want to make sure you wear insect repellent with DEET when you’re outside, especially around dusk and dawn. It’s also a good idea to keep your screens and windows closed so the mosquitoes can’t get inside your home. More than 500 people in Illinois have contracted the virus over the past five years, and 30 have died.
