Driver Charged In Deadly Hit And Run

The driver accused of allegedly hitting and killing an Edwardsville woman is now officially charged in the case. Police say 25-year-old Jonathon Nast, of Damiansville, has been cooperative since he was taken into custody yesterday. He was charged Friday with allegedly failing to report hitting 23-year-old Lana Albert, of Edwardsville, early Sunday morning and with obstruction for allegedly selling his truck to a scrap dealer before police were notified it had been in an accident.  Albert was reportedly wandering in and out of traffic on old U.S. 50 after leaving a bar in Breese when she was hit.
