Fire Departments Getting Help In Illinois

Illinois fire departments will be getting more help to get new trucks. Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation on Saturday that will boost the cap on how much municipalities can borrow from the state at no or low interest for truck buys.  Backers of the law say it’s really important for downstate rural fire departments which normally have limited resources.  The law went into effect right away. The loan cap went from 250-thousand dollars to 350-thousand dollars.
