Fourth Of July Fire Safety Tips

With Independence Day just around the corner, Greenville Fire Chief Bill Johnston shared some tips on Fourth of July Fire Safety.

“The 4th of July is coming up,” Johnston said.  “It is a grand time to celebrate the United States but be careful the way you celebrate it.  There are all kinds of fireworks.  You can get illegal fireworks and probably get away with it, but if you do that, be extremely cautious using those.  That is gunpowder and you don’t want to ruin your 4th of July by spending time in the E.R. for burns or having to take someone there because it’s your fault.”

This July 4th will mark the return of the Bond County Independence Day Festival at Patriot’s Park.
