Illinois State Police Carry Special Olympics Torch


Illinois State Police Troopers and local police are scheduled to complete the leg of the Torch Run for Special Olympics through District 18 today.

Over the past 27 years, the Torch Run has raised nearly $28 million to support the Special Olympics. The torch will travel nearly 1,500 miles as it makes its way to its final destination – the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympics in Bloomington, Illinois. Approximately 4000 athletes will compete at the Summer Games June 13-15 in Bloomington.
