KPD Holds Public Information Meeting Regarding Pool

The Kingsbury Park District Board held a public information meeting to discuss upgrades and repairs to the pool. A representative from LandTech Designs presented a possible layout for the facility.

The plan included a new pool liner shell. The liner would also take care of the return lines that are leaking and in need of replacement. Additionally, the outline included a family ADA-accessible changing area, a spray pad, a non-slip concrete deck, shaded shelter, and a zero-depth entry for both the pool and the wading pool. A new fence was outlined to enclose the areas.

The total projected cost if the district were to approve the outlined proposal would be $935,000. The LandTech representative explained that an OSLAD grant could be applied for that would cover up to $400,000 if approved. The grant deadline is in July and if awarded will be distributed in January 2015. If the project is approved by the board the project would be ready in the summer of 2016.
