OKAW Valley Amateur Radio Club Holds Field Day

The Okaw Valley Amateur Radio Club annual field day was Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon at Patriot’s Park.  Joiner Sheet Metal and Roofing gave the club a nice lift by donating a lift crane to help raise their equipment even higher in the air.  We spoke with Club President Ken Norris who said the equipment being so much higher in the air helps them reach more contacts.

Norris said a Hexx Beam Atenna was at the top of the lift.  Norris was very thankful to Joiner Sheet Metal and Roofing for the loan of the big piece of equipment.  The complete array of electronics and transmitting equipment club members operate is very impressive.  Norris explained the group keeps three stations going including one to make contacts with other operators.  To find out more about Okaw Valley Amateur Radio Club visit www.ovarc.net.
