Third Annual Greenville Graffiti Car Show A Success

Greenville Mayor Alan Gaffner presents special guest James Best with a key to the city

The third annual Greenville Graffiti Car Show drew a large crowd of people Saturday.

“It was an absolutely incredible day Saturday,” event organizer John Goldsmith told us. “We had a combination of perfect weather and just the right celebrity and the end result was an unbelievable crowd from all over the place that came to the Greenville Graffiti Car Show.

“Our official registration number was 179 cars and trucks that we had packed around the Greenville Square. Last year was our previous high and that was 138. All of the committee, and there were so many volunteers that made this show happen, were all so thrilled about how well the show went and how we were able to showcase our community to all these visitors from out of town and some of them from out of state”

Goldsmith said he also received praise for the event from the special celebrity guest.

“Another thing that makes me very proud is in talking to James Best and his wife, Dorothy, they were so pleased with the crowds, how nice everyone was, the welcome that they had from Greenville and the area, and they told me on Sunday as I took them back to the airport that this was truly one of the best events that they’ve ever been involved in.  These folks have done a lot of them and that’s some pretty high praise.”

Goldsmith said he is looking forward to doing it all again in 2015.
