Armed Robbery Victim Found Bound and Gagged on I-55 Near Raymond

On Tuesday at approximately 10:15 p.m. an Illinois State Police trooper was dispatched to Interstate 55 southbound near Raymond. Upon his arrival, the trooper discovered the driver of a vehicle bound and gagged with duct tape.

Once freed, the driver told the trooper he was pulled over by a dark colored SUV with a red light on the dashboard and Illinois license plates. According to the driver, three black males wearing masks held him at gunpoint and stole approximately $5,500 in cash, as well as other personal items. At that time the driver was bound with duct tape in his vehicle and the suspects left the scene southbound on Interstate 55.

Illinois State Police are investigating the crime.
