Bicentennial Celebrated In Silver Coins

Greenville’s Bicentennial year is less than six months away and orders are now being taken for the latest commemorative item. Special edition fine silver coins, featuring the Bicentennial logo on the front and the Bond County Courthouse and Soldiers Memorial on the back, will be available in October.

The coins are $100 each and may be pre-ordered now. Order forms are available at all Greenville banks, on-line at www.greenville200.com, or by contacting John Coleman at 593-5325.

During Greenville’s Sesquicentennial celebration in 1965, commemorative coins were one of the most popular souvenirs.

Greenville will mark its 200th birthday in 2015 with a series of observations with the main celebration slated for Labor Day weekend that year.
