Fourth Fest Committee Evaluates ’14 Event, Looks To Next Year

The Bond County Independence Day Festival Association met recently to evaluate the first annual Fourth Fest, held July 4th at Patriot’s Park, and to begin work on next year’s festival.

“It was a great event,” Association President Scott Crothers told WGEL. “The committee all agrees we had a great fireworks display. The park district did a great job getting the facilities ready and handling the parking. All our volunteers, we owe them big time for coming out and helping us with that. We’re all excited about making next year’s event even better.”

Crothers also told us how you can keep up with the Bond County Independence Day Festival Association between now and next year’s Fourth Fest.

“Check us out on Facebook or send us an email at bondcountyfourthfest@gmail.com. We’re still looking for more people to get involved with this great event, either as a volunteer on the day of or by joining the committee and giving us input and helping guide the creation of next year’s Fourth Fest.”

The Bond County Independence Day Festival Association meets at 6:00 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month in the new building at Patriot’s Park.
