Greenville’s Bicentennial celebration in 2015 will be previewed at this year’s Bond County Fair. The Bicentennial will have a booth in the metal exhibitors’ building. Bicentennial commemorative baskets, coins, t-shirts, hats, and coffee mugs will be sold.
Bicentennial volunteers will man the booth Thursday, Friday, and Monday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 8:30 p.m.; and Tuesday from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. Bicentennial organizers see the Bond County Fair as the ideal opportunity to promote the upcoming celebration.
Plans are being finalized for the Bicentennial Blast-off, a family-oriented New Year’s Eve party featuring food, games, entertainment, and unique activities, on December 31st in the main building at the American Farm Heritage Museum. The big birthday party to celebrate Greenville’s 200th is slated for Labor Day weekend 2015.
