Greenville High School will host the Boston Crusaders Competition Marching Band this summer as they compete at the Drum Corps International competition in Lebanon. GHS Band Director Ryan Thomason told us everyone is welcome to attend rehearsals on Monday, July 14 at the high school.
“They’ll be rehearsing and will be here all day until probably around 5:30,” said Thomason. “They’re going to leave and go compete in the DCI Competition of St. Louis which is going to be held in Lebanon at McKendree College.
“There are about 130 in their troop along with directors and assistants and transporters and drivers. So they have a very large group. It will be a really neat experience for people to be able to watch them and their discipline and the camaraderie they have, playing at a very high level.”
Thomason said several Greenville band students will be traveling to Lebanon Monday night to watch the competition performances. He said it’s a great opportunity to see ways to improve as individuals and as a whole.
