Greenville Knights of Columbus Receive Statewide Award

The Greenville Knights of Columbus #11707 were awarded the Spirit of Illinois Silver Medal award for outstanding service to the community.  The award was presented by Knights of Columbus District Deputy Jerry Kapp.

The local chapter was also recognized as a Star Council for membership and retention.

Both awards were presented on Sunday at the annual installation of officers’ ceremony.  Accepting the awards were Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Mark Speraneo and Chaplain Father Paul Kala.

The Knights of Columbus sponsor a variety of projects for the community, donate to many local agencies in Greenville, and provide financial support to those in Seminary.  The Knights meet on the first Thursday of each month at the Posch Center of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.  Membership is open to Catholic men over the ages of 18.
