If you’re heading out for some fun on the water this summer, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake reminds you to remember the life jackets.
“We always stress the wear of life jackets, regardless of swimming abilities,” Natural Resource Specialist Doug Wasmuth told WGEL. “There are always unforeseen things that could happen and, in many instances, that life jacket could be the difference between a life or death situation. We always stress, regardless of swimming abilities, for parents to definitely make their children wear a life jacket.”
You can hear more summer water and boating safety tips from Specialist Wasmuth on an upcoming edition of WGEL’s Public Affairs program.
