A new movie theater, Starmax Cinemas, is open in Vandalia at 215 Mattes Avenue. Maranatha Cripe, owner of Starmax Cinemas, told WGEL their theater boasts the latest technology.
“We have all new technology. All of our screens are digital,” Cripe explained. “Our one main screen, our “Big House” we call it, is actually a laser projector, the first in the country. That basically means it’s a very crisp, clean, awesome view to watch a movie, especially if you like 3D movies.”
“We have all leather seats but the very front row reclines all the way back. A lot of the teenagers are running up there to have the front row.”
