Three Homes Searched, Seven Arrested After Armed Robbery In Litchfield

Three people were robbed at gunpoint in Litchfield Saturday, July 12, around 7:30 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. The three victims traveled from Springfield to 13077 Washington Road in Litchfield to see a car listed for sale. When they arrived, the victims were held at gunpoint by three male suspects while a fourth, a female suspect, took miscellaneous items from the victims. According to police, two of the robbers repeatedly fired their weapons into the ground and into the air. The victims reported the crime to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and by the description police were led to identify one suspect, Lloyd R. Perkins, age 49, of Litchfield.

Sunday, Montgomery County Deputies and Litchfield Police went back to Washington Road in Litchfield and arrested 50 year-old Truman Seago, 46 year-old April Barnes, and 24 year-old Brittany White, all of Litchfield, for alleged armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Evidence from the Washington Road search led to three additional search warrants being issued. All three search warrants were served at the same time Sunday night by police from six different agencies on Corwin Street, Edwards Street, and Chestnut Street, all in Litchfield.

While police were at Corwin Street someone inside the home set the house on fire. Four people exited the burning home and two were arrested. Lloyd Perkins was arrested for alleged armed robbery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and Megan Finley was arrested on a retail theft warrant.

At the Chestnut Street search, Albert Buffington, age 41, was arrested for alleged armed robbery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. At Edwards Street, John Orzel, age 41, was arrested for alleged armed robbery.

According to police, several weapons were seized at each address. Litchfield Firefighters put out the fire started on Corwin Street. The investigation into the robbery, the fire, and all seized weapons continues.
