Authorities are investigating the death of a two year old in a residential swimming pool in Montgomery County. A 911 call Sunday, July 6, at 1:21 p.m., brought Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department officers to a residence on Montgomery Trail, about seven miles north of Hillsboro. According to information from the sheriff’s office, Montgomery County Coroner Rick Broaddus pronounced the child dead at the scene. According to authorities the death appears to have been caused by drowning in a pool. An autopsy is scheduled for today. No names have yet been released and additional information is expected later today.
