Two St. Louis women are accused of allegedly running a huge retail theft ring.  Illinois State Police troopers arrested 51-year-old Shawn Thomas and 34-year-old LaTonya Jackson last week after a routine traffic stop on I-55 in Montgomery County.

Authorities searched the vehicle after Thomas allegedly provided false information about who she was and uncovered more than $6,000 in allegedly stolen clothing and other items that had store tags on them.

Police say both women were wanted on outstanding warrants, and the car they were driving was wanted in connection with recent alleged thefts at an Illinois department store.  The two women are accused of allegedly running a bi-state theft operation for the last year-and-a-half.
