Boy Scouts Collecting Old Shoes

The Lewis and Clark Council of the Boy Scouts of America is sponsoring a council-wide community service project, collecting used shoes. Boy Scout Troop 1057 in Greenville is involved and will conduct a used shoe drive Saturday, August 30th.

“This is called Soles4Souls and their goal is to collect 25,000 pairs of shoes,” Algren Anderson, with Troop 1057, told WGEL. “Shoes can be dropped off at the First Presbyterian Church at Gaffner Hall.”
Shoes can be dropped off from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

All shoes collected will be refurbished in third world countries to help create a micro-economy and then returned to benefit youth in need in our area.
